How are we all?
If you know someone in Ireland and it seems like recently they’ve been a bit slack with their tweeting or e-mailing or blogging (ahem…), it’s because this mysterious object has appeared in the skies above us:
Ireland is in the midst of a heatwave. Two sunny days in a row was surprising, three in a row was amazing, and now we’re up to… Well, I’m not sure what we’re up to now, but I do know that when this ends the country will be plunged into depression because we’re LOVING it. The hottest summer since 2006, apparently, and I wasn’t in the country then so this is like the hottest I can ever remember the country being.
Still, it’s not all fun and ice-baths. We’ve no air-conditioning, our summer wardrobes don’t differ from our winter wardrobes, there’s a run on ice-cube trays, oscillating fans, barbecues, patio furniture, etc. and ice-cream vans are being chased down the streets.
And in the midst of all this I’m trying to finish writing the first draft of a book while also getting a tan.
Therefore I very much doubt I’ll get around to blogging anything new for the rest of this month, or combing through Feedly (I’m still getting used to it!) for the 300+ blog posts I’ve let slide into my unread queue. Instead, I’m going to replay some past posts and perhaps a few summaries as well, such as a ‘here’s a list of 5 posts about marketing’ kinda thing.
P.S. I hope you’re all reading The Shining Girls. ‘Tis amazing. Although I guess we’ll all be reading The Cuckoo’s Calling now, right?
